Venado is one of the desert experiences within Gravel México 2026. Located in the heart of the Potosí Highlands and founded in 1692, this town preserves a sober, timeless character, as if the passing of centuries had not altered its essence.
From its earliest days, Venado served as a key point for transit, supply, and shelter for people and goods traveling between the center of New Spain and the northern regions, along a network of routes now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro.
The 130 km route starts 25 minutes from Venado, in the neighboring town of Guanamé, reviving the spirit of the ancient roads of the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, from where an intense gravel journey across the Potosí desert begins.
Venado 130 links the town of Venado with Station 14 across the Potosino Highlands. Here are key links to help you plan travel, lodging, and logistics around the event.
